Closing Laps Australian Grand Prix

With 4 laps to go Button leads from Vettel with Kubica 0.7 seconds behind him.

3 laps to go and Vettel collides with Kubica both retire moving Barrichello into second place.

The safety car is deployed meaning Brawn will finish with a 1,2 in their maiden race!!

Lewis Hamilton also benefits after so much disappointment in qualifying.

Button pits with 12 laps to go and makes it out 3.5 seconds in front of Vettel who has Barrichello 3.5 seconds behind him.  Massa retires, Hamilton drops to 10th.

Lap 34 Kubica in 3rd place sets fastest lap and closes on Vettel.

Safety car leaves

As the safety car peels away on lap 25, Piquet goes into the gravel trap.  Button plays it cautiously to hold his lead with Vettel staying behind him.  Hamilton moves into 11th.

Lap 18 Barrichello pits then Button just before safety car is deployed due to Nakajima hitting the wall.  Good timing.  

Lap 11 Button leads from Vettell.  Barrichello 4th.

Button

Lap 5 Button pulls out a 6.7 second lead.  Barrichello is 7th.

Australian Grand Prix- The Start

The Ferraris are both on soft tyres.  Button and Barrichello lead away on the formation lap.

Button snakes to warm up tyres.

Barrichello drops well back at the start as Button storms away.  Kubica faces of Raikonnen against the wall and holds his place.

Barrichello hits the side of Mark Webber and continues.

Heidfeld picks up a puncture as Button pulls away a 4 second lead over two laps.
